How to create AR with Google Poly

Dear Users, in this tutorial we are going to show how you can create AR on ARize using your 3D models/Tilt Brush paintings from Poly by Google.

Let’s start.

Step 1

  • First, login to your ARize account and in the Menu click on “AR Studio”.
  • After, click the “Tap to Start” button, which will lead you to the page where you should choose the AR type.

Step 2

  • Scroll down to “3D Model” section and click the “Google Poly” button.

Step 3
In the opened page fill the form,

  • write your AR post name (mandatory) and description (optional) and click the “Next” button.

Step 4
In the next page choose the way of representation of your AR post. The AR content can be,

  • attached to a Trigger Image,
  • highlighted in your AR Gallery,
  • both Options,
  • after completing the section click the “Next” button.

*If you are an ARize Creator, you can also choose whether you want to post your AR content for free or for sale.

Step 5

  • Now navigate to your Google Poly Profile.
  • Open the model you want to create with and copy the URL.
  • Go back to ARize, paste the URL and Click the “Next” button.

Step 6
If in the “Step 4” you have chosen either “Attached to a Trigger Image” or “Both Options”, then you need to upload a trigger image. For that,

  • browse the trigger image that you want to use, or simply drag and drop it in the marked area,
  • crop it if necessary and click the “Crop” button,
  • also choose whether you want your AR content to be “Hanging” (perpendicular to the ground) or “Laying” (parallel to the ground) and click “Next” button.

Use this tutorial to choose a proper image.
If in the “Step 4” you have chosen “AR Gallery” option, our system will automatically skip this step.

Step 7
In this section you can review all the info that you have already input. Besides, you need to define the post availability:

  • public (available to everyone on ARize),
  • private (available only to you),
  • unlisted (available to those who have either the trigger image, or the link to your AR content).

You also need to:
  • add 3 tags to describe your post,
  • allow or forbid to download the trigger image,
  • choose one or more additional effects, if you need any.

Step 8
After reviewing the whole information,

  • scroll up and click the “Create Post” button,
  • wait for the process to be completed and you’re done.

You will find your newly created post in the “In Review” tab. It may take up to 48 hours for your post to be approved. Once it is approved or rejected you’ll receive a notification about your post status.
*In case of any difficulties during the creation process just contact our support team via ARize Website.
